Tracy's Story
Tracy began her career in this field as a dental assistant in private practice in Massachusetts. After five years of serving in that role, she was approached about working in a small high quality orthodontic lab and decided to give it a try. Since that transition in 1990, Tracy hasn’t looked back. In 1992, she was relocated to a larger orthodontic lab in Georgia. Within six months, Tracy was promoted to the Supervisor of the Acrylic department.
In 1995, Tracy moved to the Nanston Dental Group as their Orthodontic Acrylic Technician in the dental lab department. Within two years, she taught herself how to bend wire and was certified as one of the first CDT’s in orthodontics in the state of Georgia.
After a few years, Nanston decided to close down the ortho department. Tracy saw this as an opportunity to take her career and passion to the next level. Armed with her years of experience and a determination that she could make a difference, Tracy approached the executives at Nanston and asked that they would give her a chance to revitalize the orthodontic department. She asked that she be given three months to turn a profit prior to closing the lab. They agreed and Tracy became the lab manager. As promised, within those three months, Tracy took the lab from the brink of closure to turning a profit.
Facing potential unemployment, but having a strong confidence in her ability to manufacture quality appliances and effectively run an ortho lab, Tracy decided to approach her superiors once again. This time, she offered to purchase the equipment and open up her own orthodontic laboratory. In 2010, OrthoPerfect LLC was born and it continues to be a viable orthodontic lab offering high quality orthodontic appliances at competitive prices.
